On June 1, 2017, Laila Abu-Er-Rub will give a lecture on "Golden Times: Fashion, Luxury and Metallic Aesthetics in Neoliberal India" at the Workshop "Dress Matters. Transcultural Perspectives on belonging and Distinctions". It will be held at the Morphomata Kolleg of Cologne University. The lecture, as well as the workshop, will focus on historical, technological and cultural aspects of the materiality of cloth but also looks at the intertwined processes of value, identity, agency, affect and power.
