Julia Poerting, PhD student of JRG C15 “Agrarian Alternatives”, has received a grant from the Aarhus University Research Foundation (AUFF) to be a visiting PhD student in the Aarhus University Research on the Anthropocene (AURA) project, led by anthropologist Anna Tsing. AURA has a truly transdisciplinary framework, bringing together scholars from the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences to study the ‘co-species landscapes’ that humans and other species come to co-inhabit in the Anthropocene. The project closely cooperates with renowned institutions worldwide such as the “Haus der Kulturen der Welt” in Berlin and several departments at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Julia Poerting will join AURA for five months from June to October 2016 to benefit from the interdisciplinary environment, discuss findings from her PhD research and deepen her understanding of the Anthropocene network.
