As in the HCTS tradition, every year a ceremony is organized to celebrate the new graduate students from the M.A. Transcultural Studies (MATS). Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, in 2021 the MATS graduation ceremony will be held online on Thursday, February 18.
The ceremony, starting at 6 p.m., will follow the usual format: the event opens with the welcoming remarks by HCTS speaker Prof. Harald Fuess, followed by the congratulatory message delivered by the MATS Fachschaftsrat (council of student representatives). After that, the floor is open to a round of special contributions by professors and the graduates; this year´s speakers will be Prof. Barbara Mittler and graduate student Lizeth Natalia Ortiz Carreno. The customary reception with food and drinks will be held digitally, too.
