Prof. Michael Radich, the professor of Buddhist Studies at the HCTS, is a visiting professor at Stanford University during the summer semester 2019. He is teaching a reading seminar on early Chinese Buddhist texts and conducts research for his next monograph about the translator Dharmarakṣa (active about 280-308 CE). As a part of his visit he gave a public lecture titled “The Mahāparinirvāṇa-mahāsūtra in the Religion of Sixth-Century China, as Glimpsed through 'Sengchou's' Cave at Xiaonanhai” at the Ho Center for Buddhist Studies on April 19.
