Dr. Takuma Melber, lecturer and MATS programme coordinator at the HCTS, recently had an article published in the journal DAMALS. The article “Japanischer Nationalmythos: Die Rache der 47 Ronin” deals with the historical account of the legendary band of rōnin who avenged the death of feudal lord Asano in 1701. The event is considered a Japanese national myth.
