Profs. Aleida and Jan Assmann will receive the 2018 Peace Prize of the German Book Trade. The Board of Trustees has thus chosen to honour two exceptional scholars who have inspired and complemented each other’s work for decades. The award ceremony will take place on October 14, 2018, the final day of the Frankfurt Book Fair. The Peace Prize has been awarded since 1950 and is endowed with a sum of €25,000.
