HeKKsaGOn Conference in Osaka

From April 11 to April 13, the biannual conference of the strategic HeKKsaGOn Alliance took place at Osaka University. Prof. Harald Fuess, the HCTS Professor for Cultural Economic History and speaker of the HeKKsaGOn Working Group in Humanities and Social Sciences co-organized three workshops: “Young Scholars”, “Global History” and “Mobility and Social Change”. Within the conference, Prof. Nikolas Jaspert, Co-Director of the HCTS, gave a talk on “Conversions to Islam in the Medieval Mediterranean” and Dr. Takuma Melber presented on “Asia and Europe under Japanese and German occupation in World War II – a short comparison”. Prof. Christian Förster, Start-Up Professor at the HCTS, talked about „Immigration Law and Social Change”.
