On April 5, Cluster Director Prof. Barbara Mittler will give the James K. Binder Lecture in Literature entitled “Feeling Matters: Gender Interactions and the Making of Cultural Memory in China’s Vernacular Media, 1900s-2000s” at UC San Diego. The lecture deals with the politics of feeling by surveying Chinese women’s magazines published throughout the 20th century. It will reflect on the significance of intertextual and intervisual memory making in the process.
