Acting Director Prof. Axel Michaels headed the meeting and welcomed the Cluster members. He also announced the election of the new directorate to fill the positions of Prof. Joseph Maran and Prof. Axel Michaels from the winter term 2017/18 onwards. Prof. Monica Juneja and Prof. Karl Jaspert were the candidates and were successfully elected during the meeting.
Prof. Michaels also gave an update of the latest publications, awards and appointments. He also introduced Nora Bartels as a new member of the Cluster. She has taken over the assistance for the Professorship Cultural Economic History (Prof. Harald Fuess) from Christina Pietsch. Also, Dr. Hannah Baader of Forum Transregionale Studien, Berlin, will be substituting Prof. Monica Juneja in teaching during her fellowship at the Forum during the summer term.
Prof. Barbara Mittler then reported about the Follow Up of the Annual Conference “Negotiating Cultural Heritage. Making, Sustaining, Breaking, Sharing”, which took place on Monday, April 24 at the Bode-Museum Berlin.
Finally, Axel Michaels presented an update on the latest developments and further steps in respect to the Excellence Strategy in the following months and introduced the topics and speakers of the upcoming Jour Fixes at the Cluster during the summer term.
The next General Meeting will take place on October 19, 2017. It is a major event at the Cluster, where all members come together and exchange important information.
