Besides the vast exchange opportunities of Heidelberg University and its different departments, the Cluster offers exclusive Partner Programmes with universities in Japan, India and South Korea.
In Japan, the Cluster has established two study exchange programmes with two of the most prestigious universities of Japan: Kyoto University and the University of Tokyo. The Kyoto University Asian Studies Unit (KUASU) is an interdisciplinary academic centre for integrated Asian Studies. The Faculty of Letters and the Faculty of Economics offer up to five spots for 1-2 semesters. At the University of Tokyo, the Graduate School of Public Policy (GraSPP) offers a Master of Public Policy (MPP) aiming to train students in this field in view of today’s globalized world. It offers up to two spots for 1-2 semesters.
In India, up to three master students can spend one semester at the University of Hyderabad per academic year. Direct partners for the exchange agreement are the Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences as well as the Sarojini Naidu School of Arts & Communication. Students from Heidelberg can therefore attend classes in disciplines that range from Art History to Fine Arts and Performance/Communication Studies to History, Sociology, Regional Studies and Anthropology.
Seoul National University (SNU), one of South Korea´s most prestigious universities, offers the opportunity to study in a wide range of courses, for example at the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS), for a duration of 1-2 semesters for up to three students from Heidelberg.
Moreover, an exchange programme with Yale University is under development.
